About Gord Gordon

Gord Gordon has defined themself as an artist for the majority of their life, following their passion in the creation of magnificent pieces that span a variety of artistic mediums. Presently, Gord is exploring societies’ and their own interpretations of non binary gender roles and exploring through art the duality of sexuality while on the journey of transitioning. They’re beginning to incorporate new themes into their work revolving around non binary gender variance, the fluidity of sexuality and the healing aspect of art. Gord’s style fluctuates with their muse: using oils, acrylics, mixed media and photography. Having achieved degrees in both Physics and Math, Gord sometimes enjoys incorporating mathematical themes, meshing worlds of science and art together into one masterful creation.

Gord’s work has been featured in many fine art shows over the years, including the Sooke Fine Art Show (2017), the Ladysmith Fine Art Show (2016), and the Sidney Fine art Show (2015). Additionally, they were the President of the Sooke Arts Council for two years, 2018-2020, Director of the Sooke Canada Day Society, and the ARTiFACTS Art Show Coordinator held at the Sooke Regional Museum for the past six years 2014-2019. These only being a few of their varied list of accomplishments, it is clear that Gord is a cherished and key part of the local art community. Currently, Gord has their art represented at the Sooke Arts Council Gallery as well as an art installation at the Juan de Fuca Recreation Center in Colwood, BC, with the Coast Collective Society, of which they are an Associate Member. The passion in Gord Gordon’s creations accentuates their fascination with the world around them as they communicate their passion for art with their audience.
